Don't Matter If You're Black Or White

"It don't matter if you're black or white" -Michael Jackson

The King of Pop said it best when he was referring to his "baby". I also agree with his statement, but in the fashion scheme of things, which is exactly why I combined the best of both worlds for this shoot ;-) I love both colors solo and/or combined, from head to toe; so classic and clean. I don't care what the trend is at the moment, black and white, is, and always will be, in style! Sean and I were going to be in attendance for a Spotify party in San Francisco, and I wanted to get dolled up, but keep it low-key at the same time. My ruched high-waisted skirt and plexi/cap toe pumps were played down casually by my basic turtleneck top and slick leather jacket. I really kept accessories to a minimal as I didn't want to over glitz an ensemble that was otherwise materialistically glitzy all on its own. As you already know, I am a lover of labels. I just can't help it, it's seriously in my Persian gal blood. Hey, I feel you judging! No hateration allowed, lol! In my defense, I ALWAYS grab my labels at a bargain, or invest in pieces that can be used as multiple items. See below for my outfit explanation, and how I "ball on a budget" ;-)

My ruched skirt was originally purchased as a tube dress, but as you can see I put my own spin on it ;-) My amazing sunglasses and leather jacket (which I have outfit recycled over and over in previous years and posts) were both purchased from a legit luxury retailer on eBay. I LOVE eBay! I am tryly the eBay queen, and have been selling on their site since 2002 - Uh oh, did I just date myself? Nevermind lol. I'm obsessed with Wolford everything, and my turtleneck was being discontinued, so naturally I had to take advantage of their discounted final sale at the Wolford boutique. Let's all just keep in mind going forward that it's super Saturday, EVERY SATURDAY at Macy's, lol...so if you don't know, now you know! I purchased my Michael Kors watch there, and received a sweet discount...and it just so happened to be on a Saturday (Wink, Wink). H&M is my go to for on trend jewelry that look like like a million bucks but don't break the bank, since trends fade, and no one likes spending a million bucks on item's you only wear once before it becomes obsolete!! I get tons of compliments on my gorg lion-head ring all the time, and for that alone, H&M reaps the benefits of my hard earned cash on a regular basis ;-) My beautiful hounds-tooth patterned Dior clutch is actually vintage, and handed down by my super fashionista mama! So that leaves my earrings, and heels which were the only items I spent full price on. If it's classic pieces, like my diamond studs or leather pumps, then I'm a firm believer you need to cough up the dough for the good good. So the lesson here is invest in ballerific timeless pieces, that can be mixed and matched to your little hearts content, but ALWAYS on a budget ;-)
