In The Neck of Time

Now I know what you're thinking, "Ooooh I know she's not wearing white after Labor Day!" Well, sorry to disappoint, but I don't always play by the rules ;-) As much as I believe there are certain style rules to abide by - such as: dressing to flatter your body type, keeping jewelry to a minimum when wearing loud prints, and the LBD + pearl combo is always a timeless go-to, etc. - in this case, I say do what feels right! And if wearing white is wrong, then I don't wanna be right! The turtleneck dress in general has been a huge hit amongst many celebrities and high end designers at the moment, but you can look like a million bucks while getting away with wearing white, without having to spend that amount!

This gorgeous turtleneck dress is from a local boutique in Hayward, CA (East of San Fran) who carry many celebrity inspired pieces for a fraction of the cost. I especially was impressed with the luxe material of this dress. Most white dresses are quite thin and show all the goodies under wraps, but no other white dress holds a candle to this one! Hugged and accentuated all my curves the right way, completely flattering my figure, and I'm definitely not mad at that lol. I wanted to remain keeping things simple without taking away from this fabulous dress, so I made sure to accessorize with a classy pop of color. MYCA Couture's stunning ocean blue and gold bangle gave my ensemble just the right amount of "classy pop" I was going for. Breakfast at Tiffany's is one of my favorite iconic movies, and was reminiscent when I laid eyes on the color of this ravishing bangle. It just screams fabulous without breaking the bank, and can be styled with so many other color and outfit combos. But the #1 reason I adore this bangle is due to the fact it's adjustable!!!! Yes ladies, adjustable!!!! It's soooooo difficult for me to find items that fit in different places. I am a curvy Persian lady, but I also have a small frame (I'm only 5"1" - Hey now, don't be fooled....Big things do come in small packages lol). Bracelets and watches normally dangle on my little wrists, but this bangle was adjusted to the perfect fit, so I could show it off like hot arm candy should be. My favorite nude strappy heels (from Targ-hay - It sounds so much better with a French twist, doesn't it? Hehe) completed my minimal chic look. After wrapping up this dashing look, I then slowly but surely thought to myself, "What was that 'no white after Labor Day' rule again??" ;-)
